In 1981, Lauri Ward revolutionized thinking in the interior design business. She developed a technique she calls UseWhatYouHave^® decorating that allowed her to quickly and affordably create more comfortable and elegant living spaces.

Eschewing the idea that it was necessary to start from scratch to solve an interior design dilemma, she concentrated on rearranging and transforming the elements that already existed in the home. The result was a totally new look and feeling without major purchases and contracting work.

Her book Home Therapy, now out in paperback, is a compendium of 25 design solutions she created for her own clients. With step-by-step instructions and illustrations she shows how to create a nursery, child-proof a home, or organize a move to a larger or smaller space, as well as many other potentially thorny design puzzles.

Lauri Ward is a pioneer of one-day redecorating and redesign. She is the founder of the companies UseWhatYouHave^® Interiors and Interior Refiners Network^®. She has demonstrated her techniques on many major television shows, such as Oprah Winfrey and Today. She has also written articles for many major magazines, as well two other books, Use What You Have Decorating and Trade Secrets From Use What You Have Decorating.
