| Lawrence Block Hit Parade and Peter Blauner Slipping Into Darkness Hosted

Lawrence Block is one of the most widely recognized names in the mystery genre. His novels range from the urban noir of Matthew Scudder (All the Flowers are Dying) to the urbane effervescence of Bernie Rhodenbarr (The Burglar on the Prowl), while other characters include the globe-trotting insomniac Evan Tanner (Tanner on Ice) and the introspective assassin Keller (Hit Parade). A Mystery Writers of America Grand Master, Lawrence Block is a four-time winner of the Edgar Allan Poe and Shamus Awards, as well as a recipient of prizes in France, Germany, and Japan. He is the author of numerous short stories and more than fifty books including the Hard Case Crime novel, The Girl with the Long Green Heart. Lawrence and his wife Lynne are enthusiastic New Yorkers and relentless world travelers.
Peter Blauner is the author of five other novels, including The Intruder, a New York Times and international bestseller, and Slow Motion Riot, which won an Edgar Allan Poe Award for best first novel of the year. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Peg Tyre, and their two children.
WORD FOR WORD is a Bryant Park lunchtime series presented in cooperation with Coliseum Books. Notable authors discuss their newest books at the Bryant Park Reading Room, alongside 42nd Street between 5th and 6th Avenues. Following the readings, the authors will sign books, for sale on site from Coliseum Books. In case of rain, this event will be moved to the Coliseum Books Café. |
